Injuries continue to take its toll on Black Caps

10:15 am on 13 November 2009

The New Zealand cricketers are hopeful of having 11 fit players to take on Pakistan in the second and final Twenty20 match in Dubai tomorrow.

The BlackCaps were beaten by 49 runs in this morning's match with captain Daniel Vettori not playing because of a mild concussion, while Aaron Redmond suffered a groin injury while bowling.

Kyle Mills still won't be available because of a shoulder injury, but they're hopeful James Franklin will return from a back injury, otherwise they'll be calling on the coaching staff to play.

Manager Dave Curry was asked if they'd underestimated the extent of the injury toll....

All rounder Jacob Oram has returned home for the birth of his first child.
