All Whites coach says NZ Football must cash in this time

The All Whites coach Ricki Herbert wasted no time in putting the onus on the New Zealand football hierarchy to do their part in the wake of his side's win over Bahrain and secure the game's future.

Having been part of the 1982 side, Herbert's had first hand experience of what qualifying for the World Cup finals should mean for the sport here.

He wasn't impressed by what happened 27 years ago and says that simply can't happen again, with the side's success adding over $10 million to the games coffers.

25 teams have now qualified for South Africa with two more African sides Cameroon and Nigeria also confirming their places at the weekend.

The draw will be made early next month.
