Scotland sacks manager

Scotland's Football Association has sacked manager George Burley after a string of poor results including failing to qualify for the World Cup and losses to Japan and Wales.

The 53-year-old former Ipswich and Hearts boss leaves after 22 months, along with assistants Terry Butcher and Paul Hegarty.

Burley was contracted to 2012 but the SFA changed its mind after Scotland won just three of 14 games.
