French apologize for anthem

The South African Rugby Union has received an apology from the French Rugby Union in response to the performance of the South African National Anthem before last weekend's Test match in Toulouse.

Fans were left cringing over an off-key reggae singer who "butchered" the Rainbow Nations national anthem.

The President of the FFR Pierre Camou says he shares South Africa's shock at what he describes as a debacle.

Camou explained that the artist Ras Dumisani had rehearsed before the event and that all had gone smoothly.

Dumisani insisted he sang beautifully, but there were problems with the stadium's sound system.
