ABs call up de Malmanche

6:14 am on 18 November 2009

The Waikato hooker Aled de Malmanche has cut short his holiday in Bali to join the All Blacks in London and he might be on the bench for this weekend's test against England at Twickenham.

de Malmanche got a surprise call after Corey Flynn, one of only two hookers in the squad, injured a hamstring during training, but coach Graham Henry is hopeful Flynn will recover in time.

Flynn started last weekend's game against Italy, winning just his 6th cap in six years.

25 year old De Malmanche made his debut against Italy last June.

And the All Blacks doctor Deb Robinson says an x-ray has confirmed that winger Ben Smith hasn't fractured his thumb.
