Your future is with us, Brawn tells Button

6:46 pm on 18 November 2009

Formula One team boss Ross Brawn has advised world champion Jenson Button he'd do best to stay with him next season rather than jumping to rivals McLaren.

Brawn says negotiations with Button are continuing and reports he has already agreed terms with McLaren are not helpful.

He says he'd be amazed if that were the case when his future's best with his current team which is to be re-branded Mercedes Grand Prix next year.

Burtton's out of contract with Brawn and wants a significant pay rise.

He's had further discussions with McLaren, who're said to have offered him a three-year deal worth at least six million pounds a year.

But McLaren won't confirm a Guardian report that Button's agreed terms with them.
