An Italian cyclist who tested positive for a banned blood booster has been ordered to return the silver medal he won at the Beijing Olympics .
Italy's Olympic Committee says the IOC has requested that Davide Rebellin be stripped of the medal he won in the road race while also asking the International Cycling Union to change the result .
The Italian committee will also consider further action against 38-year-old Rebellin.
