Lord's cricket ground could be re-named as part of redevelopment

The home of cricket, the Lord's cricket ground could be re-named as part of a 900 million dollar redevelopment, according to the The Times newspaper.

The Marylebone Cricket Club, which owns Lord's, is considering a revamp of the world's most famous cricket ground, which could see the naming rights sold to a sponsor.

The propsed upgrade would also see seating increase by more than 7 thousand and the inclusion of an underground cricket academy.

Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, who created the "Bird's Nest" Olympic stadium in Beijing, has been given the task of designing the new super-stadium.
