Pakistan have upper hand in tour match

Seventy five by wicketkeeper Reece Young was the only highlight of the New Zealand Invitation eleven's first innings, on the opening day of their three day cricket match against Pakistan in Queenstown.

Batting first the New Zealand eleven was dismissed for a disappointing 234 with Young the only batsman to get past fifty, while Daniel Flynn made 49 and James Franklin 43.

Bowling for the tourists paceman Abdur Rauf took 4-43.

At stumps Pakistan was 14 for one, with pace bowler Tim Southee taking the wicket.
