There's been disappointment for Team New Zealand in the the final of the Louis Vuitton Trophy
regatta with the Italian team Azzurra winning the best of three final 2-0 in light and shifty conditions. off Nice in the south of France.
Skipper Dean Barker says Azzurra sailed well in difficult conditions to win the first race by 23 seconds and the second b y 17 seconds.
Barker says Team New Zealand's crew work was faultless but they could never quite close down the Italians and the light conditions there were no opportunities to get back into the first races.
He says they started the scond well but once Azurra took control they couldn't get past although they closed right up a number of times.
