The Wallabies captain Rocky Elsom has assured disillusioned Australian rugby fans that no-one's hurting more than the players after his side's first loss to Scotland in almost 30 years.
Still dumbfounded by how his side lost a match it dominated so much, against the world's ninth ranked side, Elsom on Sunday says he's never seen a more depressed bunch of teammates than in the dressing room at Murrayfield in the wake of their 9-8 loss.
Coach Robbie Deans insists his players are aware of what it means to suffer Australia's first loss to Scotland since 1982, a result which is being liked to the Wallabies' infamous loss to Tonga at Ballymore 36 years ago.
Deans is sorely missing the class and leadership of his first-choice centre pairing of Stirling Mortlock and Berrick Barnes but, says there's no point blaming injuries for his side's decline....with only more problems on the horizon as six are in doubt for this weekend's test against Wales.
