New Zealand's Jan Khan will meet Australian based Scot Kay Moran in one the women's singles semi-finals of New Zealand Open Lawn Bowls Championship in Auckland.
Yesterday Khan had to fight hard to beat Doreen Garlick of Thames 19-18 while Moran had an easier game beating Auckland's Reen Stratford 21-7 in quarterfinal action.
On the other side of the draw 2007 New Zealand Open Champion Sharyn Renshaw from Australia has reached the semi finals and will play the winner of the all Auckland quarterfinal between Jill Fraser and Lisa Parlane.
New Zealand Representatives Ali Forsyth and Mark Watt failed to close out their game against the experienced Gary Lawson and his lead Nick Buttar. After leading 13-6 after 11 of 15 ends the pair gave up nine shots in the last four ends to be defeated 15-13.
