Jet lagged Gayle back to lead Windies in Brisbane

A jet-lagged West Indies cricket captain Chris Gayle returned to Brisbane yesterday to lead his side into the first test against Australia starting today at the Gabba.

Gayle had to return to Jamaica urgently to visit his gravely ill mother, and after flying half way round the world on his return trip he dashed off to training before attending a media conference when he declared he would confidently lead the West Indies into the first test.

But Gayle could be leading a side without one of it's senior members - former captain Ramnaresh Sarwan who is in serious doubt for the match with a painful back injury after falling awkwardly during a training drill yesterday morning.
