The New Zealand Breakers welcomed back star player Kirk Penney with an emphatic 94-77 victory over the Cairns Taipans in their Australian National Basketball League match on the North Shore.
The Breakers led through-out, with Penney returning from a nine-match absence with a back injury, underlining his class in a 20-minute effort off the bench that saw him score 22 points, including 13 in the final quarter.
He was pipped as the top-scorer on the night by team-mate Oscar Forman who put in his best display of the season with six three-pointers in his total of 23 points.
The Breakers lost to the Taipans by 13 pointsin Cairns eight days ago.
The victory lifts the Breakers into the top-four with a seven-win, six-loss record.
