Gemma Flynn up for Young Hockey Player of the Year

The Black Sticks striker Gemma Flynn has been named as one of the finalists for the International Hockey Federation Young Player of the Year award.

The 19-year-old North Shore student has been in the Black Sticks side for the last two years and helped them beat Australia this year to qualify for the World Cup.

There are no New Zealanders up for the Player of the Year award.
