The New Zealand motor racing driver Brendon Hartley gets back into a Formula One car this week as teams get a chance to test at Jerez in Spain.

Hartley will drive in the Toro Rosso car for the first day with Italian Mirko Bortolotti driving the second day.

Formula One has limited test sessions in an attempt to restrict spending.

Toro Rosso used Jaime Alguersuari as a backup this year with limited success.

Hartley has been driving for Red Bull in the European Formula 3 Championship this season.

Red Bull and Toro Rosso are a part of the same company.
