Vettori says Bond not letting Black Caps down

The New Zealand cricket captain Dan Vettori says fast bowler Shane Bond shouldn't feel he's let the team down but withdrawing from another test through injury.

On pulling out of the side for the second test which is due to start in Wellington tomorrow Bond said he felt as if he was letting the side down with his continual injury woes.

Vettori says Bond's absence is a blow and his eight wicket haul in the first test in Dunedin almost single handedly won them the match and no matter how the series unfolds they are indebted to him for that.

He says they had planned to rest Bond for the third test in Napier next week but the problem is he wants to bowl all the time.

Vettori says it's hoped Bond will be back for the Bangladesh series.
