Basin Reserve turf manager says pitch will be fine

6:51 pm on 2 December 2009

Although wet weather's forced the New Zealand and Pakistan cricketers to practice indoors all week ahead of tomorrow's second test in Wellington the Basin Reserve turf manager is confident the pitch will be good.

Brett Sipthorpe says despite having to cover it for four of the past five days there'll be plenty of bounce and pace for the quick bowlers.

He says the pitch was ready om Sunday because they knew there was a fair bit of rain coming and all they need is seven or eight hours without much rain and they should be okay/

Showers are forecast for tomorrow but the long range outlook's better...
