Medal haul grows for Pascoe at swimming champs

Canterbury's Sophie Pascoe has picked up her third gold medal and third world record in her latest race today at the IPC World Swimming Short Course Championships in Brazil.

The 16-year-old Pascoe won her latest gold in the 100IM SM10 category finishing in a world record time of one minute 10.04 seconds.

She has also won gold and gained world records in the women's 100m butterfly and 200m medley, as well as two bronze medals from the meeting.

Other medal results from the latest races include a bronze to Waikato swimmer Michael Ardern in the 100m freestyle and a bronze to Auckland's Daniel Holt in 400m freestyle.

The team has more races over the next couple of days before returning home on Wednesday morning.
