NZ swim team claims big medal haul at short course champs

The New Zealand swim team at the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Brazil has finished with a total of 17 medals.

The haul means New Zealand were ranked the ninth best country overall at the event.

The team achieved six golds, two silver and nine bronze, along with 6 world records.

Individually, Canterbury 16-year-old Sophie Pascoe won four golds and three bronze medals.
