The decision on the furture makeup of the Air New Zealand Cup appears to be someway off with the New Zealand Herald reporting that the New Zealand Rugby Union will look at a new proposal at a meeting in Wellington this week.
Claiming to have seen a Players' Association proposal, the Herald says one option is for there to be 2 divisions of seven teams starting in 2011.
That would see the 14-team status quo remain next season with final positions in 2010 determining the divisional split.
The NZRU is keen to reduce the number of teams in the first division as it continues to lose money.
