The Northern Districts batsman BJ Watling is the only newcomer in the Black Caps lineup for the third and deciding test against Pakistan starting on Friday in Napier.
25 year old Watling will make his test debut, replacing Peter Fulton - the selectors staying loyal to most of the top order batsmen who underperformed in the Basin Reserve test.
Selector Mark Greatbatch summed up the selectors dilemma when he was asked if there were any talented youngsters about capable of being thrown in the deep end as India and Sri Lanka have successfully done.
