Black Sticks beat Belgium

7:36 am on 9 December 2009

The New Zealand men's hockey team has beaten Belgium 4-1 in their latest match at the Champions Challenge tournament in Argentina.

It was 1-all at half time, but the Black Sticks applied the offensive pressure in the second spell to run away with the game and secure their first win of the event... they drew 2-all with India in their opening group clash.

The Black Sticks will probably need at least a draw in their last group game against China on Friday to secure their place in the semi-finals.

The tournament is for teams outside the top 6 in the world with the winner qualifier for the top tier Champions Trophy tournament next year.
