New Zealand tennis officialdom says the decision to replace James Greehalgh as Davis Cup captain after four years in the role, wasn't because of the team's failure to advance to gain group one status in the Asia-Oceania group.

From now on the men's Davis Cup and the women's Fed Cup teams willl be captained by Marcel Vos, who represented the Netherlands as a junior before coaching in the United States for 10 years.

New Zealand Tennis CEO Steve Walker says Vos will spend up to six months of the year on the road and it's a committment Greenhalgh couldn't make.
