Two new caps in Black Sticks women

There are two new caps in the New Zealand women's hockey side to play Australia in Perth in February, the North Harbour defender Natasha Fitzsimons and the Midlands's striker Cathryn Finlayson.

The North Harbour keeper Sally Rutherford, who played one match for the Black Sticks this year has also been included and the Northland midfielder Laura Douglas has been recalled. Douglas has eight caps and last played in 2007.

Krystal Forgesson, Kate Mahon, Kate Saunders and Beth Jurgeleit. are being rested to allow coach Mark Hager to increase his player depth while Stacey Carr and Anita Punt are recovering from surgery.

The new and recalled players have a chance to push for selection in the Champions Trophy in July, the World Cup in September and the Commonwealth Games in October.
