Auckland City has upset the hosts Al Ahli 2-0 in Abu Dhabi to score the first win by a New Zealand football side at the FIFA Club World Cup.

The former Tranmere Rovers strike Adam Dickinson scored the first goal a New Zealand side's scored in the seven team competition, which includes the European champions Barcelona.

And midway through the second half midfielder Chad Coombes made sure of the win with a great shot from nearly 30 metres.

Auckland will meet Mexico's Atlante on Sunday, while Al Ahli is eliminated.
