White Ferns lose a close one

The New Zealand women's cricketers have fallen to a fourth straight loss in the final match of their one day international series with the West Indies in St Kitts.

But it was a much closer affair than the previous three defeats.

Chasing the West Indies' 214 for eight, the White Ferns were all out for 210 with one ball remaining in their innings, losing by four runs.

A lower order collapse cost the tourists the match. Captain Suzie Bates' 68 and wicketkeeper Rachel Priest's 74 set the platform but their last five wickets fell for just 10 runs.

The New Zealanders lost the third ODI by eight wickets, the second match by 65 runs, and the first by five wickets.

The result secures the West Indies a 4-0 series victory

The two sides now play two Twenty20 matches.
