New Zealand take honours on first day of third cricket test against Pakistan

New Zealand's 45 for none at stumps on day one of the third and final cricket test against Pakistan in Napier.

That's in reply to Pakistan's first innings of 223, which was anchored by opener Imran Farhat (pron FAR HART) who made 117 not out.

Pakistan won the toss and and were 51 for five at one stage with pace bowler Iain O'Brien skittling the top and middle order.

O'Brien, who's playing his final test finished with figures of four for 35, while Darryl Tuffey took four for 52.

Tim McIntosh and debutant B.J. Wattling will resume tomorrow morning on 31 and 13 respectively.

The series is level at one all.
