Visa delay fires up O'Brien

11:48 am on 12 December 2009

The New Zealand pace bowler Iain O'Brien wasn't a happy man at the start of the deciding third Test in Napier after hearing visa problems mean he might have to postpone his move to England to join his wife and play county cricket.

So he took out his frustration on Pakistan's top order, finishing the opening session of his last Test with four wickets.

That prompted the former Black Caps skipper Martin Crowe to suggest the Prime Minister John Key should step in to ensure O'Brien doesn't leave.

The bowler says he thought that might have happened already before getting serious and saying he'd received some "pretty average news" that might delay his departure.

But O'Brien says that won't mean he'll be available for the Bangladesh series.
