Nike's chairman and co-founder Phil Knight is standing firmly by Tiger Woods, saying the scandal surrounding the world golf number one is "part of the game" when it comes to signing endorsement deals with athletes.
Woods recent admission of extra-marital affairs has lost him major sponsorship deals with Gatorade, Gillette and Accenture, and AT&T has said it is evaluating its relationship.
Knight says his company Nike checked out Woods' background before signing its deal with the golfer and "he came out clean", and he says when Woods' career is over we'll look back on these indiscretions as a minor blip.
