IAAF amends Sydney Olympics results

8:13 am on 15 December 2009

The world governing body of athletics, the IAAF, has amend its results to show Katerina Thanou as the winner of the 100 metres at the Sydney 2000 Olympics even though she won't receive a gold medal.

Marion Jones was stripped of the gold medal for doping offenses and is now listed as disqualified.

Thanou, who finished second is now listed as first, but her silver medal will not be upgraded to gold as she missed several drugs tests before the Athens Games in 2004.
