CD opener celebrates another piece of history

Record breaking opening batsman Peter Ingram is enjoying being part of Central Districts cricket history once again.

In nine wicket Plunket Shield win over Wellington at the Basin Reserve yesterday Ingram and his opening partner Jamie How combined in a NZ first class record partnership of 428, Ingram batting throughout the innings for 245, just two runs short of his Central Districts record score, and How making 176.

Ingram's only regret was that they didn't quite knock off the runs themselves.

The partnership surpassed the 387 stand by test openers Glenn Turner and Terry Jarvis in the West Indies 27 years ago.
