Valerie Vili will defend her Shot Put title at the World Indoor Championships in Qatar in March.
The 2008 Olympic and 2009 and 2007 World outdoor champion won the World Indoor title in Valencia in 2008 with a New Zealand and Oceania record of 20.19m, beating Nadzeya Ostapchuk of Belarus by 45 cm.
Vili will compete in the qualifying rounds in Doha on March 13th, with the final set down for the next day.
At this stage it is planned that Vili's first outdoor competition this season will be at the Porritt Classic in Hamilton on February 13th.
