New Zealand's four-time world single sculls champion Mahe Drysdale has won the World Rowing male crew of the year award.

After his disappointment at last year's Beijing Olympics, Drysdale went unbeaten in 2009... winning his 4th world title in Poland as well as winning 2 world cup events.

The New Zealand pair of Eric Murray and Hamish Bond were finalists for the same award.

New Zealand's Don Rowlands won the award for Distinguished Services to International Rowing.

Dink Tonks was a finalist for the coach award, but that was won by American Tom Terhaar.
