Rugby league's off-field problems continue with two more NRL players in trouble with the law.

Danny Wicks has quit the Newcastle Knights after being charged with supply and possesion of illegal drugs.

The 24-year-old maintains he is innocent, but says he is terminating his contract so the NRL club can move on from the incident.

The Knights recently adopted a strong anti-drugs stance in the wake of the incident, with the club able to drug-test players 365 days a year.

While the Canberra Raiders and Kangaroos forward Dave Shillington has been arrested for drink driving after testing for more than twice the legal limit.

The 26-year-old made his Australian and Queensland debuts this year, after joining the Raiders from the Sydney Roosters.
