The champion Wild Oats is making a late run in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race, but the New Zealand maxi Alfa Romeo is holding her off with 65.9 nautical miles to go.
Wild Oats has overtaken British entry Leopard to close to within 13.6 nautical miles of the Neville Crichton-skippered leader.
The slow pace continues with the eventual winner set to take line honours around midnight, NZ time.
