Milan unofficially halt Real Madrid's run

The Italian football giants AC Milan unofficially ended Real Madrid's 22-match winning streak when striker Stephan El Shaarawy scored twice in a 4-2 friendly win over the Spaniards in Dubai.

The Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti left star players Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and James Rodriguez out of his starting line-up but Cristiano Ronaldo began the match and scored a first-half goal.

The European champions Madrid had won 22 matches in all competitions coming into the clash, although the match was classified as a friendly and not an official fixture.

Madrid, won the recent World Club Cup with a 2-0 win over Argentine club San Lorenzo, but El Shaarawy did the damage for the Italians with goals either side of half-time.

Frenchman Jeremy Menez and Giampaolo Pazzini were also on target for Milan.
