A late Gui Finkler strike secured the three points to leave the Wanderers still looking for their first win of the campaign.

The final result was harsh on the hosts who created several goalscoring opportunities and deserved at least a point, but once again were let down by a lack of killer instinct in front of a crowd of 14,619.

The Victory's Carl Valeri cracked home a magnificent volley to open the scoring in the first half after being left unmarked by the Wanderers' defence on the edge of the box after half clearing a corner.

But pressure from the Wanderers paid off just shy of the hour mark when recent signing Nick Kalmar scored his first goal for the club with a well-struck shot after playing a smart one-two with Nikita Rukavytsya.

All White Kosta Barbarouses would play a part in the winning goal, which was fired into the roof of the Wanderer's net by Finkler 10 minutes from time.
