The Chiefs will farewell assistant coach Tom Coventry at the end of the 2015 Super Rugby season when he takes up the head coach position with London Irish.
The Chiefs CEO Andrew Flexman says the franchise is fully supportive of Coventry's desire to progress his career overseas but are disappointed to be losing the services of a talented coach.
He says it's an unfortunate reality that coaches of Coventry's caliber are in high demand overseas.
The Chiefs Head Coach Dave Rennie believes that the move will be good for Coventry and says he's been a big part of their success, bringing a physical edge to their forward play.
Coventry who has signed a three year contract with London Irish says it will not take the focus off the Super Rugby season ahead of him.
He says he enjoys the Chiefs' environment but to wants to stay fresh as a coach by immersing himself in a new environment.
