Chelsea have thrashed Swansea City 5-0 in Wales to go five points clear at the top of English football's Premier League, and put the pressure back on second-placed champions Manchester City, who went on to lose 2-0 at home to Arsenal on Monday.

Chelsea scored four goals before half-time through Brazil midfielder Oscar and Spain striker Diego Costa as Swansea were torn to shreds - substitute Andre Schuerrle got his name on the scoresheet late on, in a more even second half.

Tottenham Hotspur beat Sunderland 2-1 at home to move above Arsenal to fifth.

Bottom club Leicester City lost 1-0 at home to Stoke, while Crystal Palace came back from two goals down at Burnley to win again under new manager Alan Pardew, 3-2.
