Warriors fullback Sam Tomkins is in doubt for their National Rugby League season opener against the Newcastle Knights at Hunter Stadium with a hamstring injury.

Tomkins did not train with the team on Wednesday after complaining of soreness in both his hamstrings and while he will travel with the team to Newcastle, he'll have to prove his fitness before he's able to take the field.
The coach, Andrew McFadden, says if he's ruled out Tuimoala Lolohea will shift to fullback, making way for Ken Maumalo to make his first grade debut on the wing.
