The Auckland golfer Michael Hendry says he's confident and feeling relaxed after a terrific start to the China Open in Shanghai.
Hendry fired an opening round 4 under par 68 to share the lead in the event with Englishman David Howell and Bradley Dredge of Wales.
After banking $285,000 for his win on the Japan Golf Tour last week, Hendry said he took a low key buildup to his opening round.
"Obviously I'm in pretty good form at the moment," he said.
"The one thing I've found about this week is being a bit tired the last few days, so I'm just trying to rest up as much as I can and thankfully I woke up this morning feeling fresh."
Fellow New Zealander Ryan Fox is 5 shots off the lead.
