Marshall, who replaced the injured Beauden Barrett, suffered a knee injury of his own in last weekend's game against the Sharks, and was sent for scans.

A team spokesperson says the scan showed no major ligament or cartilage damage, so he should therefore be available for selection this weekend.

The Hurricanes, who top the standings, are relying on Marshall to fill the number ten jersey for a few weeks with Barrett out with his injury.

The young Manawatu first five Otere Black is the backup.
