The Northern Districts batsman Mitchell Santner is hoping to carry on the early form he showed if he gets a chance to bat in the New Zealand cricketers next match in England.
The 23-year-old scored 94 on debut in the New Zealand XI's win over Somerset earlier this week.
He is expected to be involved in the limited overs part of the tour.
With Martin Guptil over his injury and expected to play against Worcestershire this weekend, Santner may struggle to make the side, however he has his fingers crossed....
"Obviously some more time in the middle would be good."
"Just building, keep building on the form I'm in and just try and make my stamp on this tour to start with and then try and carry a bit of form into the one-dayers and go from there."
The Canterbury bowler Matt Henry joined up with the squad today after being released from his IPL team.
The Worcester 4-day game starts tomorrow night with the first Test at Lord's in just over a week.
