Boyd becomes leading scorer in Scottish league

The Rangers striker Kris Boyd has become the Scottish Premier Football League's all-time leading scorer in spectacular fashion, scoring five goals in a 7-1 thrashing of Dundee United.

Boyd's haul took his tally to 160 - two ahead of former Celtic striker Henrik Larsson but well short of the all-time Scottish League scoring record of 410 goals established between 1922 and 1938 by Jimmy McGrory of Celtic and Clydebank.

Rangers' victory stretches their lead over Celtic to seven points ahead of next week's Old Firm clash.
