World motor racing champion Lewis Hamilton thrilled his home crowd on the way to his second straight British Grand Prix victory which has taken him 17 points clear of Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg in the world drivers' championship.

Germany's Sebastian Vettel finished third for Ferrari, ahead of Williams' Felipe Massa who'd made a blistering start to lead for the first 20 laps of the race.
On a tricky afternoon of safety cars, sunshine and showers, Hamilton timed his tyre strategy to perfection to chalk up his 38th career win and fifth of the season.
The victory in front of an estimated 140,000 fans made Hamilton only the third Briton, after Jim Clark and Nigel Mansell, to win three times at home.
Only 13 cars finished the race.
