Ko improves at US Open

New Zealand's world golf No.2 Lydia Ko has finished in a tie for 12th at the US Open in Pennsylvania, seven shots behind the winner, young South Korean In Gee Chun.

Ko carded a final round two under par 68 at Lancaster Country Club to move to one under overall for the tournament.

Chun shot a brilliant four under par 66 in the final round to finish on eight under 272 for a one-stroke victory over compatriot Amy Yang.

Another South Korean, Inbee Park, retains her world No.1 status after finishing in a share of third, level at five under par with Stacy Lewis.

It's Chun In-gee's first major championship title. The 20-year-old's won seven times on the LPGA of Korea Tour and was playing in her first US Open.
