San Antonio Spurs point guard Patty Mills has been ruled out with a shoulder injury, while his former Spurs team-mate, Aron Baynes is out after undergoing surgery on his ankle.

Joe Ingles, who playes for the Utah Jazz, is also absent from the Boomers side after deciding to take a break following his rookie NBA season.

The Oceania Championships are the prequalifier for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Australian Men's Basketball coach, Andrej Lemanis says it's disappointing that Mills can't join the team to take on the Tall Blacks in August.

Center Andrew Bogut will make his first appearance for the Boomers since the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
