After a 68 on day one, Ko carded a second round one over par 73 to fall to three under for the tournament, three strokes off the lead held by Norway's Suzann Pettersen.

Ko couldn't match her bogie free first round Dundonald Links, hitting four birdies and five bogies on day two.

Pettersen was steady to hold onto the lead, her second round 70 giving her a two shot buffer from the second placed Briton, Holly Clyburn.
