The 32-year-old last played for the Mystics in 2014, before taking time off to have her second child.

Harrison has played 79 Tests for New Zealand, including winning a World and Commonwealth Games title.

She said she always wanted to come back, but couldn't be sure how life would play out.

Harrison said she's feeling really good, and she had a few run-arounds against the Mystics in training towards the end of this season as well as providing opposition for the Silver Ferns in training games before the World Cup.

Also announced to join the 2016 Mystics squad are defender Holly Fowler and wing defence Michaela Sokolich-Beatson, who are both in the national development squad.

The 18-year-old Fowler is head girl at Mt Albert Grammar and has represented the New Zealand Secondary Schools side for the last four seasons.

Also 18, Sokolich-Beatson finished at Whangaporoa College last year and has also played for the national schools team.
